“You like rainbows? It’s a rainbow today on the card.”That’s how Alex Cora described the bullpen situation on Sunday morning.“We got green, got yellow, orange, red,” the Red Sox manager continued, alluding to the levels of availability and unavailability on the lineup card. “We’ll be okay.”Indeed, the Red Sox were “okay” on Sunday, but not good enough to overcome Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who took the series with a 7-4 victory.“We tried, but they were really good today,” Cora said on Sunday evening.Sunday was the Red Sox’s Game No. 13 of a 16-game stretch without a day off, and they’d gone through five relievers on Saturday. They’d also played without Kenley Jansen since August 23 and lost Brennan Bernardino to the COVID-related injured list on Sunday morning. In other words, Cora needed his starter to get the job done.Unfortunately, Tanner Houck scuffled a bit on Sunday afternoon. A dangerous storm moving through the Gulf of Mexico and toward the Florida coast will not have a direct immediate impact on New England weather, according to the National Weather Service.A swirling mass of air over warm southern waters grew to tropical storm strength on Sunday, and though Tropical Storm Idalia is predicted to potentially reach hurricane force before it makes landfall in the U.S. on Tuesday, weather in and around Boston should be mild if a bit wet midweek.“It’s looking like there is a nice strong high pressure building up in southern New England, that’s why we’re looking at such nice weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” Alan Dunham, a meteorologist with the NWS told the Herald.According to Dunham, rain midweek should taper off by the weekend, when the weather is expected to be comfortably warm and dry.A slight breeze off the ocean will bring clouds Monday morning, Dunham said, but the day is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 75 degrees. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A San Francisco restaurant is feuding with police on social media after the business implemented a policy that bans armed officers from entering. Reem's California announced the policy in an Instagram post on Friday, saying the reason is to have a "deep commitment to uplifting social and racial justice in our communities.""In a time of increased gun violence -- particularly impacting people of color, youth, and queer people -- we believe that maintaining a strict policy of prohibiting guns in our restaurant keeps us safer," Reem's wrote. The San Francisco Police Officer's Association, a union that represents officers, called out the restaurant on X, formerly known as Twitter. It’s pretty clear how Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell looks at the preseason. Though he sees some value in exhibition games, O’Connell would rather eat his hat than play his starters in a game that doesn’t count. That was on display when the Vikings hosted the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason finale Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings had more than 40 players on the sideline without pads, including starting quarterback Kirk Cousins, receiver Justin Jefferson, pass rusher Danielle Hunter and safety Harrison Smith, among so many others. The lack of star power throughout the preseason games did give some young players on the roster a chance to shine. Here’s a look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down ahead of cutdown day this week.UpJaren Hall (quarterback): Though he’s buried behind Cousins and backup Nick Mullens on the depth chart, Hall still seems to have the inside track at making the 53-man roster.
