Mother charged with death of infant daughter in San Bernardino County A 36-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of torture and child abuse causing death in connection with the death of her infant daughter, authorities announced on Sunday.  The incident unfolded on Saturday, June 24, when deputies with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in the 11400 block of Russet Place just after 2 a.m., according to an SBSD news release.  At the residence, deputies found 7-month-old female infant who was not breathing. Deputies performed life saving measures on the child until paramedics arrived and transported the infant to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:11 a.m. Authorities said that both deputies and medical personnel noted physical trauma to the infant that was consistent with child abuse. 2 arrested in armed robbery of 16-year-old in South Miami-Dade; 1 at large posts video bragging about incident Police arrested a man and a woman in connection to the armed robbery of a 16-year-old boy in South Miami-Dade, an incident that was recorded on video later posted on social media.According to Miami-Dade Police, 18-year-old Jayden Sanders called the victim on June 18 and asked if he wanted to go to the beach.When the teen agreed, investigators said, Sanders and a car full of passengers picked the victim up.At around 2:30 p.m., police said, they got to the area of Southwest 353rd Street and 18th Avenue, and that’s when Sanders pulled the car over.Investigators said Sanders, 21-year-old Kaya Burgos and a third person pulled out a rifle and two semi-automatic guns and pointed them at the victim’s head.An arrest report states Burgos began demanding the victim, “Give up all that [expletive], referring to his sneakers, gold neck chain, camera, and iPhone XR.”Investigators said the victim eventually got away, ran home and told police the next day.Burgos and Sanders w...

Elevator walls at Little Havana apartment building defaced with swastikas Residents of an apartment building in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood shared their concerns about a hateful display in their elevator.7News cameras showed two swastikas etched into the elevator’s walls at the Gallery at River Parc apartments, located along the 1300 block of Northwest Seventh Street.Residents said they first saw the vandalism Sunday morning and tried reporting it to police, but were told they needed to wait for the management office to call it in.The discovery has left many residents in fear for their safety.“With shootings and vandalism and, you know, crime going on nowadays at an all0time high, you know, you can never be too safe,” said a resident who asked not to be identified or show his face on camera.The resident said he wants the management of the 11-story building to also investigate.

High-dose oral versions of the medication in the weight-loss drug Wegovy may work as well as the popular injections when it comes to paring pounds and improving health, according to final results of two studies released Sunday night. The potent tablets also appear to work for people with diabetes, who notoriously struggle to lose weight.
